The outdoor skating rink will open on 7 January in front of the State Academic Grand Theater named after Alisher Navoi, in Tashkent.

The project is being implemented by the State Committee for Tourism Development and Art Uz Promotion Agency with the support of Tashkent city hokimiyat. The goal is to popularize a healthy lifestyle and sports among the population.

Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov visited the skating rink and discussed issues related to the opening of the project.

The outdoor skating rink and the accompanying festive zone are set for one month. During this time, cultural, entertainment and sports events will take place on the ice rink.

The concert zone will host music and dance festivals “Dance Music Fest Winter”, “Rock”, “Iosis Fest”, “Tashkent Rap Festival”, youth ice hockey championship, a dance show on ice and others.

On January 7, the star of Russian ice sports, Olympic Champion in Figure Skating Alexei Yagudin will perform with his “Winter” program. A concert of Uzbekistan pop artists is also planned to be held.

For the convenience of visiting the ice rink, the organizers provide a food court, where the best brands of fast food, confectionery and coffee will be presented. Visitors can rent skates and other accessories next to the rink.
