On September 29-30, Tashkent will host an economic forum on “Uzbekistan: achievements of economic reforms and their prospects”.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It will be attended by representatives of the Government of Uzbekistan, the international business and financial sector, international and regional development organizations, non-governmental organizations and media. The forum will allow analyzing the experience of economic reforms implemented in Uzbekistan over the past five years. Promising ideas for further economic development will also be discussed.
The first day of the forum will be devoted to new plans for the growth of the country's economy and related challenges. It will include a discussion on regional cooperation and human capital development, a panel dialogue on the role of economic openness in ensuring competitiveness.
On the second day, participants will focus on privatization, development of small and medium-sized businesses, Uzbekistan's place in global supply chains and sustainable energy.
During the event, experts will exchange views on macroeconomic reforms, the transformation of state-owned enterprises and state-owned banks, development of the capital market, expansion of public-private partnership and privatization.
