Tashkent to host International Sculpture Symposium
12:31 / 2024-08-15

The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change held an event in connection with the beginning of the Third International Sculpture Symposium “Tashkent 2024”.

The opening ceremony of the event was attended by the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Aziz Abduhakimov, Chairman of the Academy of Arts Akmal Nur, Chairman of the Association of Artists of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Valikhujayev, representatives of foreign embassies in Uzbekistan, education institutions under the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.

“Environmental problems are a global threat to humanity”, Aziz Abduhakimov said. “There is almost no region or country on our planet that has not faced environmental pollution problems and climate change. In any region, damage to nature associated with the human factor leads to ecological balance and air pollution disruption. The symposium aims to draw public attention to the above problems”.

The symposium will be attended by 20 foreign and 6 local sculptors. Experienced, talented sculptors will create stone works on “Sculpture and the Environment”. Masterclasses and practical classes will be held for young sculptors, and the “master-apprentice” tradition will be demonstrated.

In addition, excursions to museums and cultural heritage sites of Tashkent, Bukhara and Tashkent regions will be organized for the symposium participants.

To form the cultural environment and artistic appearance of Tashkent, the sculptures created during the symposium with high ideological content and corresponding to aesthetic requirements will be installed in parks and recreation areas, in places of entertainment and tourism, as well as on the territory of the Green University.
