Tashkent to host Central Asia Trade Forum

The forum, organized by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, will be held on October 17-18.

Uzbekistan will host the Eighth Central Asia Trade Forum.

The forum, organized by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, will be held on October 17-18, in Tashkent city.

The Central Asia Trade Forum brings together over 70 million partners and business representatives from around the world. Holding this large-scale event in Tashkent will serve as a kind of platform for acquainting the world community with the emerging markets of Central Asia.

The number of people wishing to participate in the forum increases from year to year. In 2017, the forum was held in Kazakhstan, and was attended by more than 1,100 representatives from 18 countries.

The theme of the current forum is “New Horizons in Trade and Investment”. The event will be devoted to the readiness of Central Asia, in particular Uzbekistan, for regional and international trade and business opportunities.

An exhibition-fair will be organized within the framework of the event. It will be attended by enterprises of various branches of the region – transport, tourism, information technologies, equipment production, harvesting and processing fruit and vegetable products.

The international forum is a project aimed at increasing competitiveness in Central Asian countries, creating jobs through supporting trade activities. The project provides for employment of the population of five countries of the region in fruit and vegetable, tourism, transport and logistics spheres, as well as comprehensive development of exports.
