Tashkent will host Asian Weightlifting Championships.

On the eve of the event, a press conference has been held with the participation of the First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Ravshan Irmatov, the First Vice President of the Asian Weightlifting Federation Shakhrullo Makhmudov, the champions of Asia and the world, the winners of the Olympic Games, and media representatives.

The participants were informed about the work carried out to hold the Asian Championships at a high level, the preparation of Uzbekistan team members for competitions in which the best athletes of Asia will compete not only for medals, but also for tickets to the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

At the press conference, Ivan Yefremov was awarded the bronze medal of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and Dalera Davronova was awarded the silver medal of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina.
