The outdoor skating rink opened on 7 January in front of the State Academic Grand Theater named after Alisher Navoi, in Tashkent. The project is implemented at the initiative of the State Committee for Tourism Development.

The outdoor skating rink and the accompanying festive zone will operate for one month. During this time, cultural, entertainment and sports events will take place on the ice rink. They include “Dance Music Fest Winter”, “Iosis Fest”, “Tashkent Rap Festival”, as well as a youth ice hockey championship, and a dance show on ice.

At the opening ceremony of the skating rink, the world figure skating star, Olympic Champion in Figure Skating Alexei Yagudin performed with his “Winter” program. A concert of Uzbekistan pop artists was also held.

The skating rink will host free hockey, figure skating and ice dance courses every day from 9 AM to 12 AM. In the evening, a children’s ice hockey tournament and performances by young figure skaters will take place.

The skating rink is free.
