Uzbekistan’s talented chess players have returned from the World Cadet and Youth Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships held in Rhodes, Greece.

In the rapid and blitz championships, Umida Omonova won two gold medals, and Humoyun Bekmurodov won two silver medals. Almas Rakhmatullayev entered the top five of the strongest of the tournament.

Advisor to the Minister of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Avaz Karimov, Deputy Director of the Agency for Youth Affairs Jamshid Khodjayev, officials of Uzbekistan Chess Federation and parents met the chess players.

The chess players will take part in the XV International Chess Tournament dedicated to the memory of the first grandmaster of Uzbekistan Georgy Agzamov.
