Tashkent International Half Marathon will be held on March 24.

A press conference was held on the occasion of the event, organized by the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, the National Olympic Committee, Athletic Federation, Tashkent city administration and Uzbekistan Youth Union.

Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Sharifjon Muminjonov and others noted that large-scale activities are is being carried out in Uzbekistan to further popularize sports included in the program of the Olympic Games. As a result, young athletes are improving, worthily defending the honor of the country in the international arena.

Over 200 professional athletes from 23 countries of the world will take part in the first Tashkent International Half-Marathon.

It is also planned to hold competitions for amateurs 5 kilometers in length and among people with disabilities – 1 kilometer.

It was noted that the competition will be held in parallel with festivities. Participants of the event will become acquainted with traditions and customs of Uzbekistan, will taste various dishes. 

Athletes who win the first eighth places will be awarded cash prizes in the amount of 3 to 12 million UZS, diplomas and medals.
