The International Classical Music Festival has kicked off in Tashkent.

This large-scale musical project was initiated and implemented in collaboration with the European Foundation for the Support of Culture (EUFSC), the Ministry of Culture, the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, and other partner organizations.

The music festival, which will run until October 3, is a significant event in Uzbekistan’s cultural life. World-renowned musicians such as Behzod Abduraimov, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Maxim Vengerov, Mark Bushkov, and Yekwon Sunwoo will attend the event.

“The main goal of this festival is to further popularize Uzbek music in the context of globalization, as well as to promote the development of classical music in Uzbekistan. In addition, the event provides local art lovers with the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of famous foreign performers”, said Anvar Tojiboyev, Director General of the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan.

“Concerts within the framework of the festival will undoubtedly become a unique masterclass for our youth”, said Alibek Kabdurakhmanov, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, Chief Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan. “We have carefully prepared for this festival and are confident that we will hold it at the highest level”.

The first concert of the festival began at the International Forums Palace in Tashkent with a grandiose performance by Behzod Abduraimov, resident performer at the International Center for Music of the University of Missouri.

The gentle, sad notes, intertwined with a playful melody, charmed all music lovers. The concert featured works by S. Yudakov, O. Abdullayeva, S. Rachmaninov, and A. Shor for piano and orchestra.
