As part of the Third Tashkent International Investment Forum, a business lunch was organized on “Expansion of small and medium-sized businesses: the role of the state, investors and entrepreneurs”.
The event, which became a unique platform for exchanging ideas for business development, was moderated by the former U.S. Treasury Secretary, now a venture capitalist, Thomas Emanuel Dans.
The parties discussed the development of small and medium-sized businesses as an essential means of creating jobs.

Chairman of the Board of the Business Development Bank JSCB Sakhi Annaklichev noted that the bank was identified as the main base bank of the comprehensive program “Continuous support for small businesses”, which is actively being implemented in Uzbekistan. Information was also presented on business training, particularly on measures implemented under an agreement with Yamagata University in Japan, international cooperation for financial support for small businesses, and the introduction of banking services.
The information presented was of great interest to foreign investors.
Following the business lunch, the participants expressed a common opinion regarding the vital role of small and medium-sized businesses in the country’s economy, the creation of new jobs, and the need for cooperation between the state, investors, and entrepreneurs.
