About 500 sambo fighters from almost 50 countries are fighting for victory in 40 weight categories in this championship, organized by the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Olympic Committee, Uzbekistan Sambo Association and several other organizations.

On the first day of the Championships, sambo fighters fought in 12 weight categories. In their weight and age categories, the honor of Uzbekistan was defended by Munisa Eshkulova, Azada Aymuratova, Jakhona Esanova, Nargizakhon Abdulatipova, Maftuna Ergasheva, Yulduz Uzakova, Saidali Rakhimov, Zafarbek Khamrokulov, Bakojon Ashurov, Bektosh Nazarov, Khasan Khurramov, Askarbek Avganov.
