UAE delegation led by the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri visits Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the UAE ministries and companies took part in several events held in the capital, including the Uzbekistan – UAE Business Forum. The economic potential and multifaceted cooperation were demonstrated, the possibilities of implementing joint investment projects, drawing up mutually beneficial trade contracts in Uzbekistan were discussed.

Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov noted the prospects for multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, an increase in investment projects.

Presentations were held on the investment potential of Uzbekistan in agriculture, textile, mining, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, and jewelry. The UAE investors have become closely acquainted with the privatization program being implemented in Uzbekistan.

The B2B and G2B meetings held within the framework of the forum served as a platform for business representatives to exchange views, discuss further cooperation and reach specific agreements.

Agreements were reached on the formation of Uzbekistan – UAE Business Council, on Uzbekistan’s joining the World Logistics Passport, as well as on the implementation of an investment project to organize the cultivation of cherries in Uzbekistan jointly with the E20 Investments Ltd.

A Memorandum on Economic Development was signed between the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan and the Department of Economic Development of Abu Dhabi.
