On February 7, the competitions of the Uzbekistan Classic Chess Championships among young people under 14, 16, and 18 years kicked off at the International Chess Academy in Tashkent.

The world champion Afruza Hamdamova and prize-winners in several international tournaments, Javokhir Bozorov, Umida Omonova, and Maftuna Bobomurodova, attended the championship under the 14 age category.

The matches between Afruza Hamdamova, Sarvinoz Orziqulova, Umida Omonova, and Sadbarkhon Akhadova became the most interesting.

Uzbekistan Classic Chess Championships consist of 9 rounds and will run until February 15. Rapid competitions will be held on February 16, and blitz competitions on February 17.
