Tashkent hosted Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Interregional Forum.
According to the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade, the delegations were headed by the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, and the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov. The forum was also attended by heads of ministries, agencies, industry associations, commercial banks, chambers of commerce and industry, heads of local administrations and representatives of business communities in the regions of the two countries.
It was announced that to enhance trade relations and bring the volume of mutual trade up to $1 billion, it is planned to increase mutual supplies of demanded products to the markets of both countries, conduct regular trade and business missions, and form platforms for establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs.
An agreement was signed on the establishment of a joint Investment Fund with an authorized capital of $500 million to successfully and timely finance projects.
B2G and B2B meetings were organized, as well as the 3rd meeting of Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Business Council took place.
Following the forum, 11 trade and economic agreements were signed in the priority sectors of the regional development of both countries.
