Tashkent hosted the First Uzbek-Indian International Congress of Tour Guides to increase the tourist flow from India to Uzbekistan and increase the personnel potential of the country.

Tashkent hosted the First Uzbek-Indian International Congress of Tour Guides to increase the tourist flow from India to Uzbekistan and increase the personnel potential of the country. The event was organized by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development, the State Unitary Enterprise “Educational and Consulting Center of Tourism” together with the Tourist Guides Federation of India.

The congress was attended by tour guides of the two countries, representatives of state administrations in tourism and culture, tourism organizations, as well as domestic and foreign media.

The forum was opened by the Acting First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development Ulugbek Kasimkhojayev.

Sessions devoted to current issues related to the promotion of cultural and historical heritage and natural wealth of Uzbekistan, diversification of tourism product and development of new excursion programs for Indian tourists, improving the system of training qualified tour guides, exchanging personnel potential, and much more, were held.

In addition, tour operators of the two countries were given the opportunity to establish a direct constructive dialogue and conclude bilateral agreements at B2B meetings.

Following the Congress, an agreement was reached within which representatives of the Tourist Guides Federation of India will actively participate in advanced training of tour guides of Uzbekistan and create conditions for their internship in India.
