The 23rd Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia took place on October 23.
According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev and Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov. The heads of key ministries and agencies of the two countries also took part in the event.
A wide range of issues of trade-economic, investment, industrial, transport-logistics and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two countries were considered within the framework of the agenda.
The course of investment cooperation and industrial cooperation between the two countries in the context of regions and industries was considered. Mutual interest was expressed in developing new project initiatives and accelerating the implementation of existing joint projects in petrochemistry, mining metallurgy, energy, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, production of building materials, light industry, as well as fruit and vegetable processing.
The Final Protocol and a significant package of bilateral documents reflecting the key agreements reached during the event were signed following the meeting.
