Tashkent hosts the ISC Meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States

The 61st Meeting of the Interstate Council on Standardization, Metrology and Certification of the Commonwealth of Independent States has kicked off in Tashkent.

This Council, established on March 13, 1992, based on the Agreement on the Implementation of a Coordinated Policy in Standardization, Metrology and Certification, signed by the heads of Government of the CIS, together with the Executive Committee is working on the implementation of a coordinated policy in standardization, metrology and conformity assessment.

By the regulations, the meeting, which takes place twice a year, is attended by heads and experts of national agencies that make up the Council, heads of the CIS Executive Committee, the Bureau of Standards, as well as representatives of international organizations.

The heads and experts of national agencies that make up the Council, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the Bureau for Standards will discuss issues of improving activities in the standardization, metrology, certification and accreditation. Several decisions will be made and a corresponding protocol will be drawn up.

According to the organizers, at the event, an opportunity will be created for guests to become familiar with the work carried out in New Uzbekistan on further deepening structural reforms in the technical regulation, standardization, certification and metrology, bringing this area in line with international standards.

At the same time, the meeting will contribute to the further expansion of multifaceted and mutually beneficial ties with the CIS countries, consistent strengthening of work aimed at the development of high-quality infrastructure together with international organizations operating in the relevant areas.
