On January 3, the National Olympic Committee in Tashkent hosted a ceremony of awarding Uzbekistan’s 17-year-old talented grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov, who won the World Rapid Chess Championship in Warsaw, Poland.
At the World Blitz and Rapid Chess Championship in Poland on December 26-30, Nodirbek Abdusattorov defeated the world’s leading chess players and won the championship.
Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdujabbor Abduvakhidov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Chairman of the Chess Federation Aziz Abdukhakimov, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Rustam Shoabdurakhmanov, Director of the Youth Affairs Agency, Senator Alisher Sadullayev, parents, relatives of Nodirbek Abdusattorov, media representatives, the sports community, sports veterans attended the event.
State Advisor Abdujabbor Abduvakhidov read out the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on awarding Nodirbek Abdusattorov with the state award “Mard O’g’lon”. On behalf of the Head of the state, Sherzod Asadov handed over the keys to a two-room house in Tashkent to the champion. Aziz Abdukhakimov awarded 250 million UZS to Nodirbek Abdusattorov, 100 million UZS to his coaches Jakhongir Vakhidov and the family of the late Dmitry Qayumov, 50 million UZS to Javokhir Sindorov, who took 8th place at the World Blitz Championships, and 25 million UZS to Shamsiddin Vakhidov for his worthy participation.
“I am pleased with the attention paid by our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and our government to youth. I promise to wear the world crown in the classic direction in the future. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who supported me along the way”, Nodirbek Abdusattorov said.
The second part of the event continued at Yangi O’zbekiston complex.
Thousands of our compatriots greeted Uzbekistan’s young and talented chess player, world champion Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Javokhir Sindorov, Shamsiddin and Jakhongir Vokhidov, their parents and relatives. They presented flowers and expressed best wishes.
