The championships were attended by more than 500 athletes from Australia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.
The Open Cup, organized by the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan, the NOC and Track and Field Athletics Federation of the country, is included in the competition calendar of the International Association of Athletics Federations and allows to score rating points for the upcoming XXXII Summer Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo next year.
Uzbekistan's Shokhsanam Khurramova, Nigina Sharipova, Tamila Kuchkarova, Veronika Grishina, Jaloliddin Khamrokulov and Yevgeny Fadeyev were the first to cross the finish line in running at different distances. Valentina Kibalnikova won the 100m hurdle race. 10,000 metres race walk was won by Mushtari Tosheva.
Alina Yablokova, Nadia Dusanova, Nikita Loginov won the long and high jumps.
Nargiza Kuchkarova, Regina Adashbayeva and Sofya Burkhanova became gold medalists in javelin, hammer and nucleus throwing championships among women, Sukhrob Khujayev, Bobur Shakirjanov and Doston Rajabov became winners among men.
