Tashkent hosts Creative Central Asia Forum

Creative Central Asia Forum was founded by the British Council in 2017. Its goal is to develop leadership in creative and cultural economy of the region.

Creative Central Asia Forum was founded by the British Council in 2017. Its goal is to develop leadership in creative and cultural economy of the region. In the last two years, the forum was held in Kazakhstan.

This year the forum was organized in Tashkent on the initiative and with the assistance of the Fund for Development of Culture and Art under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are regularly attending the event. This year's forum Creative Central Asia 2019 will be attended by Turkmenistan delegation for the first time.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Timothy Torlot, Head of the Department of the Fund for Development of Culture and Art under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Elmurod Najimov, British Council Country Director for Uzbekistan Rachel Ireland and others addressed the forum.

Head of the Fund for Development of Culture and Art Furkat Palvan-Zade, Director of Artishock Theatre (Kazakhstan) Anastasia Tarasova and other experts exchanged views at the plenary sessions on the issues of transformation of the creative industry of Central Asian region in an active and prestigious industry, formation of audience and client base, new educational approach, cultural management in culture and art.
