The Ministry of Preschool and School Education organized an international scientific-practical conference on “Career guidance: the key to sustainable development” in Tashkent.

International experts, including specialists from the UNICEF Representative Office in Uzbekistan, attended the event held online and offline.

The event aims at professional orientation of preschool and general education students, promotion of sustainable socio-economic growth by identifying and developing the professional orientation of young people in accordance with the requirements of the modern labor market, introduction of international experience, and advanced training of school psychologists.

Such issues as defining the role of vocational education within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, exchanging experience in innovation and digital technologies in vocational education, forming a personnel training system based on labor market analysis and forecasting, and psychological, pedagogical, and social approaches to career guidance were discussed during the dialogue.

Experts note that the modern labor market has a high demand for the agricultural sector, information technology programming, web design, cybersecurity, construction and architecture, tourism and services, and energy. The development of vocational education serves to prepare young people for professions in demand on the labor market.
