The conference “Jadids: National Identity, Independence and Statehood” was attended by scientists from the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Sweden, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Japan, representatives of international organizations, and the diplomatic corps.
We talked with Yilmaz Cankal Ugli, the employee responsible for education at the Turkish Embassy in Uzbekistan.
“The Organization of Turkic States, formed in 2020, played an important role in the broad establishment of cooperation between Türkiye and Central Asia”, he said. “This was the goal of the Jadids. They sought to unite the Turkic peoples, because common roots, common languages, and aspirations unite our peoples”.
Studying the Jadid movement and its advanced ideas is more important for the modern generation than ever. The Jadids sought to implement them but were unable to do so. The current generation has every opportunity for this.
Taking this opportunity, I express my gratitude to the conference organizers, which aimed to expand the study and scientific research of the Jadid movement, which played an essential role in the history of the Turkic peoples.
