A Meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the SCO Member States kicked off in Tashkent on August 24 within the framework of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The meeting is attended by heads of military agencies of the member states and observer states, as well as representatives of the SCO Secretariat.

By the agenda of the meeting, the delegations will discuss several issues in the military sphere. The parties will also exchange views on challenges and threats to regional and international security to the SCO member states and measures to neutralize them.

Heads of the military agencies of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as Belarus, as an observer country at the SCO, laid flowers at the Ode to Fortitude Monument in Tashkent Victory Park.
