Tashkent hosts the second ministerial conference “Italy – Central Asia”, Uzbekistan MFA reports.
The Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Kyrgyzstan – Ruslan Kazakbayev, Tajikistan – Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Italy – Luigi Di Maio, Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Terhi Hakala arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the meeting.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov is taking part in the event via videoconference.
The conference is being held under the co-chairmanship of the Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and Italy – Luigi Di Maio.
The foreign ministers of Central Asia, Italy and representatives of the European Union are discussing current challenges in the region, opportunities for cooperation in politics, economics and healthcare.
As previously reported, the conference will also include a roundtable discussion on “Current state and prospects for the development of scientific cooperation between Italy and Central Asia”.
