The International Chess Academy in Tashkent hosts the XVI International Chess Tournament dedicated to the memory of Uzbekistan's first grandmaster, Georgy Agzamov.
Six rounds were held as part of this tournament with a prize fund of $25 thousand. According to the final results, Volodar Murzin (Group A) is leading, playing on behalf of the International Chess Federation, who scored 5.5 points out of 6 possible. Vugar Rasulov from Azerbaijan has 5 points. Uzbekistan’s Abdumalik Abdusalimov (4.5 points), Shamsiddin Vokhidov (4 points) and Bakhrom Bakhrillayev (4 points) entered the top ten.
Uzbekistan’s chess players are leading in group B. In first place is Marsel Shoyusupov, who scored 6 points out of 6 possible. The following places are taken by Muhammadrahim Abdullayev (5.5 points) and Shavkat Abdukhalikov (5 points).
The international tournament will run until April 12.
