Tashkent hosted Uzbekistan – Russia First Educational Forum

At the initiative of leading universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan – Russia First Educational Forum was held at Tashkent State University of Economics.

At the initiative of leading universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan – Russia First Educational Forum was held at Tashkent State University of Economics.

The main purpose of the event is further expansion of international cooperation in higher education system and transition to a new level of cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries.

It was attended by representatives of ministries and agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation, Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and more than 80 rectors of leading higher education institutions of the Russian Federation.

"We are taking numerous methods of cooperation with leading foreign universities, but taking into account historical cultural and social unity of our countries, we would like to see Russian partners as main in development of national higher education system”, – says Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov in his speech.

Tashkent hosted Uzbekistan – Russia First Educational Forum

During the event, rectors of higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Russia discussed most important tasks and issues of mutual cooperation. According to the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, large-scale activities have been carried out on improving the quality of training highly qualified personnel in universities in modern directions. In particular, 13 new higher education institutions have been established, three of which are branches of leading foreign universities. Taking into account the current need for real sector of economy, 66 directions of modern education were created and training of master's degree specialists in 48 specialties has started.

Following the Uzbekistan – Russia educational forum, it is planned to establish branches of higher education institutions of the Russian Federation, conduct scientific-research and innovation forums and other events.
