The Tashkent Declaration, adopted by the participants of the international conference held in Uzbekistan on March 3-4 and dedicated to regional cooperation of the Central Asian countries on the implementation of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, has been recognized as an official document of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly.
The document has been translated into six official languages of the UN – Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish – and distributed to all Member States and UN specialized agencies.
The conference in Tashkent was organized within the framework of the implementation of the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, put forward at the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly.
The document was approved by the UN Member States as the first comprehensive plan of action and coordination in the fight against terrorism, including the elimination of this evil within the framework of the Joint Action Plan for the Implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
As it was noted, the most important tasks, in this case, are the fight against terrorism, ensuring human rights and the rule of law.
Thus, the adoption of the Tashkent Declaration as an official document of the UN General Assembly testifies to the recognition of Uzbekistan's efforts in the fight against terrorism by the international community.
