Tennis players from about 20 countries competed for the main prize of the tournament.

In our country tennis is dynamically developed. Our talented tennis players adequately defend the honor of our country at prestigious competitions. Denis Istomin - one of those athletes. He won many prestigious competitions included in the classification of “Challenger”, “Futures” and the ATP.

In the doubles competition of the International Tennis Tournament “Tashkent Challenger-2016” Denis Istomin successfully performed with Russian Mikhail Elgin.

Denis and Mikhail in the first round of the tournament won over the young tennis players of our country Shonigmatjon Shofayziyev and Humoyun Sultonov, in the quarterfinals - over Egor Gerasimov and Ilya Ivashka from Belarus, in the semifinals - over Andreas Siljestromfrom Sweden and Aliaksandr Bury from Belarus and advanced to the finals.

In the final, duo of Denis Istomin and Mikhail Elgin defeated Andre Begemann from Germany and Leander Paes – tennis player from India with a score of 6:4, 6:2 and won the main prize of the International Tennis Tournament “Tashkent Challenger-2016”.
