Tashkent celebrates 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan

An art evening in connection with the 100th anniversary of establishment of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.


An art evening in connection with the 100th anniversary of establishment of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign  Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Unforgettable date in the history of Azerbaijan – May 28, 1918, then the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was established.

At the event, organized by the Republican Azerbaijan National Cultural Center, a photo exhibition related to formation of the Republic of Azerbaijan was presented.

At the event, the Chairman of the Republican Azerbaijan National Cultural Center F.Huseynov congratulated all on the holiday and noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan today has one of the leading places among the modern states of the world, emphasized that friendly relations between the two countries are increasingly strengthening.

In Uzbekistan, representatives of different nations and nationalities are given ample opportunities for learning their native language, preserving traditions, customs, culture and their promotion. Compatriots of Azerbaijani nationality are also making a worthy contribution to the development and prosperity of Uzbekistan.

At the event, a documentary film by famous filmmaker Eldar Mamedov "Ties of Ancient Friendship" was demonstrated, poems in Azerbaijani were read, amateur art groups performed songs and dances.
