Tanzila Narbayeva put forward essential initiatives at the APA Session

Baku hosted the 15th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).

A delegation from Uzbekistan led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, took part in this prestigious forum.

The role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening multilateral cooperation in Asia became the key topic of the meeting, with the participation of representatives of parliaments from about 30 countries.

In her speech at the main session of the Assembly, the Chairperson of the Senate, Tanzila Narbayeva, put forward several initiatives, such as the exchange of experience in parliamentary diplomacy and lawmaking, as well as establishing close cooperation on environmental safety and climate change.

“The assembly participants emphasized the active role of the Parliament of Uzbekistan in putting forward essential initiatives to expand regional and international relations, as well as in organizing international events”, Ms. Tanzila Narbayeva said. “For the first time in the history of Central Asia, the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union will take place in Tashkent on April 5-9, 2025, on the initiative of Uzbekistan. At the APA Plenary Session, the participants focused on strengthening active interparliamentary cooperation in implementing the agreements reached at a high level and in exchanging experience in lawmaking”.
