Chairperson of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva, who opened the plenary session of the Senate, emphasized that an important political event, a nationwide referendum, was held at a high level in Uzbekistan.

“Starting from May 1, the renewed Constitution entered into force”, says Tanzila Narbayeva. – This event will have a great impact both on our national statehood and on the life of each person. We have entered a new era, convinced of one truth – the Constitution has become a document, the author of which is the people. The active participation of the people, especially young people, in this process indicates that young people are not indifferent to their fate, they live with a sense of ownership in the development of the country. In all processes, from the drafting of the Constitution to the referendum, our people demonstrated their strong political faith and will, voted for its approval, which once again confirms this truth. In other words, our people have said their word, confidently confirmed the choice of the future, that they will not deviate from the chosen path. Based on the constitutional reforms, our country has entered a new stage of its development.
