The election process continues at polling station No. 576 in Yakkasaray district of the capital.
The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva visited this polling station. The Chairperson of the Senate, who voted in the elections, talked to journalists.
– All of you are witnesses to the fact that the elections are held openly and transparently, – said Mrs. Narbayeva. – The fact that observers from all political parties and public organizations are participating in the polls, and the media freely observing the process and widely covering it, means that the national electoral system in our country is improving more and more. I think that its development in accordance with world standards is, first of all, the result of many years of painstaking joint work of legislators, the CEC, political parties, public organizations, and the media.
The process of holding the next elections will continue to improve in this direction. It is important that many international organizations show interest in the polls. In particular, representatives of 16 international organizations are monitoring the course of the elections. Representatives of about 50 countries, 244 observers of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) are also directly observing the process. It should be noted that the participation of observers in each election and the improvement of national legislation based on their recommendations after the process serves to conduct elections at the level of international standards.
Before arriving at this polling station, I observed the election process through the media and social networks. The mood of our compatriots is excellent. Our people are not indifferent to their future, – the Chairperson of the Senate noted.
