Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva has met with the UNFPA Representative in Uzbekistan Mr. Yu Yu.

According to the upper house of Parliament, the parties discussed issues of assistance in the implementation of the Strategy for Achieving Gender Equality until 2030, cooperation in gender equality, and the empowerment of women.

The parties noted the significant potential of interaction between Uzbekistan and UNFPA and expressed interest in deepening a fruitful dialogue through the implementation of specific joint projects.

The sides considered a work plan for the empowerment of women and the elimination of gender-based violence.

Mr. Yu Yu highly appreciated the ongoing large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan and expressed readiness to assist in the implementation of tasks to achieve gender equality.
