The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Chairperson of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev.

At the meeting, it was noted that cooperation between the two states is developing based on high trust and mutual respect, the intensification of ties contributes to further enhancing multilateral relations between the two countries.

Mrs. Narbayeva noted the importance of the comprehensive development of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the current conditions of strengthening bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, emphasizing that members of parliament should make every effort to ensure parliamentary control over the implementation of the goals set by the heads of state.

Mr. Ashimbayev dwelled on the regional significance of the forum of Central Asian countries and emphasized that Uzbekistan initiated the organization of the site in this format. He expressed confidence that this platform will become the basis for more effective ties between the two countries in various areas, agreed upon at a high level.

The parties also noted the need for wider use of the capabilities of parliaments to further strengthen trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two states, cooperation in transport and communication, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue a regular dialogue and exchange of views on a wide range of issues on the bilateral and regional agenda.
