President of the Republic of Singapore Halimah Yacob visited Uzbekistan on a state visit.
The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva shared her impressions of the meeting with Mrs. Halimah Yacob on her page on social networks:
“During the dialogue, we discussed the constructive importance of inter-parliamentary ties in developing relations between Uzbekistan and Singapore. Of course, it is necessary to give a new impetus to the activities of partner groups between our parliaments.
We have agreed to strengthen cooperation between Singapore and Uzbekistan in various fields, including trade-economic, innovation, science, and education.
With Mrs. Halimah Yacob, we exchanged views on mutual practical dialogue at almost all levels of the education system.
In particular, it is essential to study Singapore's best practices in improving civil servants' professional and managerial potential.
During our conversation, Mrs. Halimah Yacob noted that she is well aware of the rich spiritual heritage of Uzbekistan and stressed that exhibitions and art projects related to the culture and art of the Uzbek people should be shown not only in European countries, but also in Asian countries, including Singapore.
For the efforts of the peoples of Singapore and Uzbekistan taking into account the spiritually close customs, values and family traditions are also closely linked in ensuring interethnic and interfaith peace and solidarity”.
