Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, has held talks with Special Representative of the President of Russia for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, in Moscow, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The parties discussed the efforts of Uzbekistan and Russia to peacefully resolve the Afghan crisis, restore the socio-economic infrastructure of the country, provide humanitarian aid and other assistance to the Afghan people.

The sides also exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan, the development of a consolidated position of the international community, concerning the new authorities of the country, the prevention of a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, and the implementation of various infrastructure projects in the country, including in transport and energy.

The mutual interest of Uzbekistan and Russia in continuing consultations on Afghan issues was expressed.
