Joint exercises with the participation of military personnel from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Russia have begun at Harb Maydon training ground in Tajikistan’s Khatlon region.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the exercises will run until August 10.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Colonel Farrukh Ziyaboyev, Deputy Minister of Defense of Tajikistan, Major General Abdukhoshim Gulomzoda and Deputy Commander of the Central Military District of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yevgeny Poplavsky.
