The delegation led by the Acting Hokim of Syrdarya region Akmaljon Makhmudaliyev returned from a trip to the People’s Republic of China. The trip was aimed at strengthening foreign economic and trade relations, establishing cooperation in science, technology, construction, culture and strengthening friendly relations between the provinces of China and Syrdarya region.

Representatives of the region, who arrived in the city of Xi'an, held talks with the leadership of Shaanxi province. The main attention during the talks was paid to strengthening multifaceted cooperation in various areas. Green investments, expansion of direct trade and economic relations between entrepreneurs working in Shaanxi province and Syrdarya region, active development of cooperation in healthcare, agriculture, education, culture and tourism were defined as priority areas. The parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Members of the delegation took part in the Shaanxi – Syrdarya trade and economic cooperation forum in the city of Yangling, Shaanxi province. A presentation about the essence and significance of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, conditions, guarantees, benefits and preferences provided to foreign investors in the country, in particular, in Syrdarya region, took place. G2B meetings were held and mutually beneficial proposals were considered.

Following the forum, an agreement was signed between the Yangling Modern Agriculture International Cooperation and the Peng Sheng industrial park of Syrdarya region on attracting investments for the procurement of meat and agricultural products, a Cooperation Agreement between Gulistan State University and higher education institutions of professional technologies of the city of Yangling, as well as a memorandum of trilateral cooperation between the Hokimiyat of Syrdarya region, the Venchjou Szinshen company of China and the Yangling cross-border logistics company in international cooperation.

The delegation got acquainted with the activity of the Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Industries Demonstration Zone, Northwest A&F University, the educational process and scientific research at Yangling Vocational and Technical College.

In the city of Xi'an, representatives of the region got acquainted with the activities of the LONGi company for the production of solar panels. Talks were held on the issues of joint training of specialists at the Shirin College of Energy and the introduction of alternative energy sources in Syrdarya region. An agreement was reached to hold an exhibition of solar panels produced in the region in May.

Members of the delegation toured the exhibition, which demonstrated the activities of the Xi'an Aiju Grain and Oil Industrial Group for harvesting grain and production of flour and oil. During the talks, the leadership of the company offered to invest in the region to develop the cultivation and processing of agricultural products, as well as animal husbandry, in particular, goat breeding and fodder. In turn, A. Makhmudaliyev supported the proposal and invited representatives of the company to Syrdarya region to continue talks in this direction.

Members of Syrdarya delegation visited Xiamen Hithium Energy Storage Technology Co. Ltd, operating in the port city of Xiamen, Fujian province, specializing in the production and sale of batteries and energy storage systems, where they got acquainted with the company’s technological capabilities and production process.

Talks were held with officials, party leaders of the city. The parties expressed their firm desire to work together on establishing trade and economic cooperation and signed a bilateral agreement. Syrdarya – Xiamen Business Forum was held.

Specific initiatives were put forward by Chinese companies – assistance in the development of the cotton and textile sector in Syrdarya region, the organization of a logistics center, the delivery of the necessary equipment for the introduction of alternative energy sources, the organization of training and advanced training for young people in IT, the treatment and provision of services to the elderly generation, exporting agricultural products.

Following the business forum, agreements were signed to attract investments of $4 million for the opening together with Changtai Yuanrun Energy Saving Technology of a joint venture Wang da Group for the production of styrene, $3 million to implement jointly with Longuan Lantian Cement of the bag production project.

Syrdarya – Baoding Business Forum also took place in the city of Baoding, Hebei province. It was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China, the Hokimiyat of the region, the leadership of the city of Baoding and businesspeople.

The result of the forum was the signing of memorandums on the implementation, together with China’s Foshan Jade Import and Export Trading, of a project for the production of furniture from chipboard, MDF and acrylic worth $10 million, a shoe production project together with the Shina Materials Storage and Transportation Group worth $12.5 million, as well as the development of a fabric production project worth $10 million.
