A solemn event has taken place on the occasion of October 21 – the Uzbek Language Day at the Alley of Writers in Tashkent.

At the event dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the awarding of the state status to the Uzbek language, the Head of the Department for the Development of the State Language of the Cabinet of Ministers Abdugaffar Kirgizbayev noted that attention to the Uzbek language has been raised to the level of state policy.

In his congratulatory message to the people on the occasion of the holiday, the Head of the state identified the current issues of the development of the native language as priorities. Textbooks, dictionaries, scientific and educational literature are being created in the country, and the popularization of the language is being strengthened. A certain legal system has been created for the development of the native language. Many state structures are actively contributing to raising the status of the state language. In the process of creating the foundations of the third Renaissance, scientific research is supported, compliance with the norms and legislation on the Uzbek language is regulated, and creative youth is encouraged.

Chairman of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, People’s Poet Sirojiddin Sayyid noted that the congratulatory message of the President to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the holiday is an important program for further development of our native language and increasing attention to it. The work on the development of the reading culture and national literature in the country is a practical expression of the attention paid to the native language.

The Uzbek language resounds from the high rostrum of the United Nations, at major political summits and forums.

The growing interest in the Uzbek language in the world today found its confirmation in the words of foreign students studying in higher education institutions of Uzbekistan.

The participants of the solemn meeting laid flowers at the Monument to Alisher Navoi. Excerpts from the works of Uzbek poets were read. The Hero of Uzbekistan, People’s Artist Munojat Yulchiyeva performed to the accompaniment of the Yunus Rajabi Ensemble of Maqomists.

The event was attended by the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdujabbar Abduvakhitov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bekhzod Musayev.

Literary and enlightening events dedicated to the holiday of the Uzbek language are held across the country.
