Susan Elliott: Uzbekistan demonstrates impressive results
09:00 / 2025-08-21

On August 19, during the High-Level Meeting in Tashkent between Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and European partners on “Cooperation for Common Development”, Susan Elliott, Chief Executive Officer of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, shared her views on the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.

As the American guest emphasized, under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country has demonstrated impressive results in recent years. According to her, Uzbekistan has become an example of successful transformation, encompassing both economic and social aspects. The steps taken to develop human capital have contributed to improving the quality of education, introducing modern methods, and expanding access to knowledge. “We can see that this has had an impact, shaping a new generation of specialists ready to meet the challenges of the global economy”, she stated.

Susan Elliott also highlighted digitalization as one of Uzbekistan’s priorities. The expert noted that the introduction of digital technologies into public administration, the economy, and the daily lives of citizens has significantly increased the efficiency and transparency of processes. “This, in turn, has strengthened trust both within the country and among international partners”, summarized the Chief Executive Officer of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy.

The event was organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Nizami Ganjavi International Center with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The forum was attended by more than 30 high-level guests, including former heads of state and government from countries such as Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Latvia, Croatia, Austria, and the Czech Republic. In addition, representatives of leading international organizations – the United Nations, the World Bank, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization – also joined the event.

On the Uzbek side, the meeting was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the country’s leading analytical centers.
