14 citizens' self-governing bodies competed in line with three conditions for the Surkhandarya regional stage of the competition “Most exemplary citizens' self-governing body”.At the event, organized under the slogan “My life, my destiny - my native, unique Uzbekistan!”, first deputy khokim of Surkhandarya A.Abdukodirov, chairman of the Surkhandarya regional branch of the “Mahalla” Public Charity Fund U.Toshboev and others noted that consistent reforms implemented under the leadership of the President of our country to attain a democratic State and strong civil society serve as an important factor in improving institutional framework of self-government bodies, to further strengthen cooperation with the government authorities and administration.
According to the terms of the contest special attention is focused on the participants’ work on ensuring stable spiritual environment in society, women's employment, education of youth, strengthening inter-ethnic harmony and unity, the preservation of our national values, knowledge of legislation, relating to the institutions of mahalla, experience in solving various problems in the mahalla.
Gathering of citizens of “Bahor” mahalla of Sherabad district recognized as the most exemplary citizens' self-governing body and received the right to participate in the republican stage of the competition.
In the framework of the event was an exhibition of products made in the mahallas and products of national crafts.
