10:12 / 2024-05-01

An online conference “On the practice of applying international treaties on the rights of the child in the territories of the CIS member states” took place.

Surayyo Rakhmonova, the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Children’s Rights, participated in it.

The implementation of international documents and agreements into national legislation was discussed at the event. Each country shared its experience in implementing global standards for the protection of the interests of the child in national legislation.

Surayyo Rakhmonova noted that Uzbekistan systematically and consistently fulfills its obligations under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. After the fifth periodic report of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the implementation of the provisions of this Convention, the “National Action Plan for the implementation of the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child for 2023-2027” was adopted. The Children’s Ombudsman system is successfully operating to ensure the interests of children and prompt assistance in adverse situations.

Appeals and media reports are being analyzed, and prompt measures are being taken to resolve them.
