On September 11-15 this year, a Summer School was held for UNDP Regional Initiative participants studying in Uzbekistan.
The program aims to expand Afghan women's economic opportunities through their education and professional development.
Similar classes have been organized many times in Uzbekistan.
– The next Summer School was held in Samarkand, – said the Project Manager in Uzbekistan Ulugbek Kamoliddinov. – International coaches conducted classes on gender issues and self-development.
The UNDP project, designed to provide 50 Afghan women with the opportunity to receive education in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, was launched in 2019. Further, it received additional funding, which led to its geographical expansion (now the project is being implemented in Kyrgyzstan) and educational grants to another 105 women from Afghanistan.
Thanks to this project of the UNDP, funded by the European Union, 155 Afghan women can get an education in Central Asia by 2027.
After completing the training, the participants of Summer School were awarded certificates.
