The Uzbekneftegaz JSC is implementing the concept of a digital field. Since 2019, has been introducing 3D modeling of hydrocarbon fields, digitalization, and maintaining a single database of available geological and technical data. For this purpose, a modern Modeling Center in the Open Space format was created in the JSC.
On August 11, Uzbekneftegaz organized a press tour for a group of media representatives, during which information was provided on the activities of the Modeling Center and plans for the future.
Speaking at the event, the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC Bekhzod Usmanov drew attention to the advantages of the modeling and digitalization system.
– If earlier all data was stored on paper, now they are digitalized. This center plays an essential role in achieving great success in the oil and gas sector and the successful organization of geological events. Naturally, thanks to digitalization, the pace of our activities has accelerated, and productivity has increased. Our main task is to drill new wells. This year we are developing 123 new mines. With the help of foreign companies, a major reconstruction of existing fields will be carried out, while the gas extraction and production process will also be digitized. For this purpose, the E-kon project will be implemented, allowing monitoring of the gas production process at each field online, – says B. Usmanov.
As noted, during 2019-2023, the Modeling Center digitized about 470 thousand geological and technical data on 7200 wells, the results of 44 thousand geophysical surveys on 1400 wells, and 750 seismic data.
– The main thing is that a unified national database of the oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan was created, – says Anvar Murotov, – head of the Center’s Department. – Its development, delivery of the necessary material and technical resources, installation, and activation were carried out in cooperation with Schlumberger. Work is underway to create digital 3D geological and hydrodynamic models and their phased introduction into production. By digitalizing underground geological data, digital geological models of 122 fields, hydrodynamic models of 83 fields, surface network models of 52 fields, six integrated, two regional models, and Techlog-projects of four fields were developed.
The advantage of simulation is to reduce production risks. Thus, the design placement of more than 150 wells at the Quyi Sharqiy Berdaq, Quyi Surgil, Shurtan, Dengizkul, Alan, Tegirmon, Kulbeshkak, Doyakhotin, and other fields was revised. If earlier geological risks at the fields used were 40-45 percent, then at present, they have been reduced to 5-10 percent. Digital transformation results amounted to $66.7 million.
The participants of the event also visited the Uzlitineftgaz JSC. At the meeting, Ulugbek Nazarov, Chairman of the Board of the company, informed about the E-kon project for the digitalization of deposits and the expected results.
