A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan visits the United States.

According to the Agency of Plant Protection and Quarantine, delegation members visited the Texas Department of Agriculture and discussed cooperation issues in cotton growing and seed production. Detailed information was given about the country’s experience in controlling insect pests.

At the meeting, it was noted that soil salinity is one of the problems of growing cotton in Uzbekistan. The parties agreed to cooperate in preventing the degradation of crop areas. An agreement was also reached on training specialists in the agricultural sector and establishing scientific exchange.

The parties discussed issues of exporting agricultural products to the United States.
