The Hashar Week project was first implemented in March 2019. Its main goal is to attract the attention of the government, the general public, private enterprises and citizens to global environmental problems, in particular to the issue of waste.
The project was implemented jointly by a private enterprise LLC SVD Advisory, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Environmental Protection, representatives of a number of business structures and international organizations. The Hashar Week project is currently at the stage of obtaining NGO status.
The Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a briefing in connection with the launch of “Hashar Week 2020 – Z Avlod” project on introduction of a waste sorting system and improving environmental awareness in the country.
Why “Hashar Week 2020 – Z Avlod” project is called so?
According to the theory of Strauss and Howe, there is a unique characteristic of an individual generation, formed in the context of various historical and socio-economic foundations. Generation Z are children born in the early 2000s, they have creative thinking and ask a lot of questions. Representatives of Generation Z early become independent, show great interest in global issues, in particular in environmental and political issues. Therefore, the author of the project, Suna Park, in the current project drew up a plan on themes related to representatives of young generation.
At the same time, within the framework of the project, a contest will be held among students of the country on “If I become the President of the country...”, “Uzbekistan 2030: the country in my view”, activities will be carried out on the documentary “Uzbekistan Z-generation”.
