16:20 / 2024-05-22

The International Student Olympiad in Statistics, part of the “Development of Statistics of the Commonwealth of Independent States” project, has kicked off in Moscow.

Under the guidance of the Scientific Head of the Tashkent State University of Economics team, Ulugbek Kamoliddinov, the teams from Uzbekistan are ready to showcase their statistical prowess. This Olympiad, a fierce competition between teams of students from different higher education institutions, will witness the participation of 13 teams from seven CIS countries, including two teams from Uzbekistan.

The teams participating in the Olympiad compete in three stages based on creative tasks, individual tests, and research results. The Uzbekistan team seeks to analyze statistics on gender equality in education in Uzbekistan in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Ulugbek Kamoliddinov noted that recommendations were given to eliminate gender differences in curricula and teaching methods and to create favorable conditions for women’s and girls’ active participation in economic, political, and social life.

The International Olympiad continues.
