Members of the Youth Parliament at the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis held a roundtable discussion with students of Bukhara State University on “Constitutional reforms discussed among students”.
The event was attended by members of the Youth Parliament, students of Bukhara State University, youth leaders and activists, media representatives.
Deputy of the Youth Parliament Z. Akhmadova spoke in detail about the essence and significance of joint meetings of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and meetings of the Constitutional Commission.
It was noted that the meeting of the President of Uzbekistan with members of the Commission on June 20 this year gave a new meaning to its work. Citizens’ proposals and ideas put forward by the Head of the state at the meeting were reflected in the Draft Constitutional Law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan”. The youth warmly supported the proposals to guarantee the right of every child to compulsory one-year training in state preschool institutions for admission to a comprehensive school, to ensure the continuation of education by talented young people regardless of their financial situation, the rights of higher educational institutions and research institutes to self-government, academic freedom, freedom to conduct research and study within the limits established by law.
During the discussions, it was noted that the Draft Constitutional Law was submitted for public discussion, the text was published in “Halq So’zi” and “Narodnoye Slovo” (People’s Word) newspapers and on the electronic platform www.meningkonstitutsiyam.uzelektron.
