First Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Court Robakhon Makhmudova met with the Head of the project of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) “Promotion of legal statehood in Central Asia” Christoph Kopecky.

It was noted that ensuring the independence of the judiciary in Uzbekistan and reliable protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms are the main priorities of state policy, further reforming the judicial system. At the same time, the support of international partner organizations is essential.

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and reputable international organizations held several events within the program “Promotion of Legal Statehood in Central Asia”. Over the past two years, several working trips of judges to foreign countries, workshops, and training courses on current issues in judicial law were organized.

At the meeting, it was noted that cooperation continues. All this will contribute to strengthening Uzbekistan’s judicial system.
