Strengthening regional cooperation

During the meeting with Gwi-Yeop Son, Regional Director of the UN Development Coordination Office for Europe and Central Asia, an exchange of views took place on the prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and UN system organizations, the projects implemented within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, and their contribution to socio-economic reforms.

As part of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asian Countries held in Tashkent, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva held a series of meetings with representatives of international partners and the parliaments of neighboring states, including Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan.

Issues of intensifying trade and economic ties between the regions, expanding joint projects in industry, energy, and production, as well as in the social and humanitarian spheres, were discussed.

Participants of the meetings emphasized that the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asian Countries serves as an essential platform for deepening regional cooperation, enhancing women’s engagement, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
